It’s the end of summer lacrosse. What now? Maybe you reflect on what went well and what didn’t. Maybe you make plans to train and improve your skills. But did you ever think about what to do with your equipment?
Take care of your equipment. It is just as important as training. Sure, you could just toss it in the back of the closet until you need it again. You may not want to take a big whiff when you get it out though. Instead of putting it out of sight out of mind, check out what needs maintenance.
Give some attention to that lace in the head of your stick that was quickly tied together on the sidelines during your last tournament. Buy a kit and restring it.
Clean and sanitize your pads so they don’t develop any mold or mildew from being put away in a dark place while they are still wet with sweat. Be sure to check with the manufacturer to see what products they recommend/approve for cleaning. Also, look them over for any broken or worn parts that may need repaired or replaced.
